The Manti Templars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over North Sevier. The win was some much needed relief for Manti as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Manti to victory were Cadee Alder and Brooklyn Olson. Alder dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Olson scored 11 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Alder pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was June Olsen, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Manti's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for North Sevier, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manti will face off against Emery at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Emery focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday. North Sevier's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (San Juan is ranked 116th, while North Sevier is ranked 92nd).
