Football Recap: Aledo's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Aledo and Ryan squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Aledo had to settle for second. They fell 31-21 to the Ryan Raiders. The Bearcats' defeat signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

Although Aledo took the loss, they still got scores from Blake Burdine, Gavin Beard, and Raycine Guillory Jr.

Aledo wouldn't let Ryan keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Kutter Harrell, Lamel Swanson, and Benton McElree picked up one apiece. McElree is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.

Ryan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nehemiah Warmate out in front who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Tre'Vaughn Reynolds, who gained 178 total yards and a touchdown.

Aledo's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2. As for Ryan, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Aledo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ryan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 24-21 defeat against Highland Park on the 13th.
