Everything went their way against Randolph Southern as Southern Wells made off with a 79-53 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Southern Wells as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Southern Wells got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chandler Oswalt out in front who went 8 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Oswalt has scored at least 25% of Southern Wells' points. Andrew Aker was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Randolph Southern saw an underclassman step up: Noah Allen scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taysen Stewart, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Southern Wells' victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Randolph Southern, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Southern Wells will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. Randolph Southern and Winchester Community will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Winchester Community presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Randolph Southern in Indiana (Winchester Community is ranked 187th, while Randolph Southern is ranked 422nd).
