Volleyball Recap: Cherryville Starts Season with Win Against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy

Cherryville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Ironmen haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 25-5.

Cherryville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Hudson out in front who had six aces. Those six aces gave Hudson a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherryville is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will challenge Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Gryphons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
