The Omaha Westside Warriors put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Omaha Northwest on the road to the tune of 87-44. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Omaha Westside has managed all season.
Omaha Westside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kevin Stubblefield led the charge by scoring 11 points along with three steals. The match was Stubblefield's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rickey Loftin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael DuBose, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DuBose has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tony Smith, who scored ten points.
Omaha Northwest struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Omaha Westside's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Omaha Northwest, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Omaha Westside will challenge Lincoln Southeast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha Northwest won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kearney at 4:15 p.m. on December 16th. Kearney presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Omaha Northwest in Nebraska (Kearney is ranked 75th, while Omaha Northwest is ranked 271st).
