Lacey Township's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joey Davis, who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for ten yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Trevor Santucci also helped out with an impressive 170 receiving yards.
Toms River East's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nevin Hart, who picked up 110 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Brandon Peins was another key contributor, throwing for 97 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
Lacey Township's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Toms River East, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Lacey Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Bank Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Red Bank Regional is ranked 160th, while Lacey Township is ranked 169th). Toms River East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
