The Canajoharie Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 60-50 to Fort Plain. Canajoharie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Plain apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Leading Fort Plain to victory were Bradley Rumrill and Owen Castellano. Rumrill scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Castellano scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castellano has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Benson, who scored ten points.
Canajoharie dropped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fort Plain, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Canajoharie will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Dolgeville at 3:00 p.m. As for Fort Plain, they will head out on the road to take on Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
