The Santee Warriors pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 80-61 bruising from Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard]. While losing is never fun, Santee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while the Bobcats are ranked 44th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Koenig, who scored 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Koenig has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Schindler, who scored 19 points along with two blocks.
Santee are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Santee will head out on the road to challenge the Indians on Thursday. As for Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard], they will take on the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Elkhorn Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
