The Vancleave Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Stone Tomcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Vancleave is hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Vancleave came up short against Gautier and fell 41-31.
Meanwhile, Stone can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 66-46 margin over East Central. The win was nothing new for Stone as they're now sitting on four straight.
Stone's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ray Dennis, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Jabori Moye, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Moye pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was JaKobey Johnson, who scored five points along with six rebounds and six blocks.
Vancleave's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Stone, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Vancleave came up short against Stone in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 48-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dennis, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Now that Vancleave knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
