Malad is 1-9 against Bear Lake since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Malad Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Bear Lake Bears at 7:30 p.m. Malad is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Malad came up short against Soda Springs and fell 54-46.
Meanwhile, Bear Lake didn't have too much trouble with Aberdeen on the road on Monday as they won 59-41. The win was just what Bear Lake needed coming off of a 76-50 defeat in their prior contest.
Taylor Roberts was a one-man wrecking crew for Bear Lake as he went 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 1 assist. It was the first time this season that Roberts scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Crane, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Malad has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Bear Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Malad came up short against Bear Lake in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crane, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
