Softball Recap: Plano Wins Going Away Against Princeton

Plano's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Princeton Panthers with a sharp 15-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Cadence Charland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Those two hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Taylor Pitts was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Zhang, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.

Plano always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only posted an OBP of .312.

Plano's record now sits at 4-7. As for Princeton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1.

Coming up, Plano will take on Lone Star at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lone Star's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Plano's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Princeton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-9 defeat against Legacy Christian Academy on the 27th.
