The Ash Fork Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Seligman Antelopes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ash Fork is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Ash Fork was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-39 to Williams.
Despite the loss, Ash Fork had strong showings from Jesus Ayala, who scored 13 points, and Gabril Zeller, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ayala has scored all season.
Seligman suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-43 walloping at the hands of El Capitan/Centennial Academy. Seligman was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.
Ash Fork has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Seligman, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12.
Ash Fork was able to grind out a solid victory over Seligman in their previous matchup last Wednesday, winning 78-69. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ash Fork since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
