The Forest Wildcats waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 52-47 W over Flagler Palm Coast. Given Forest's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Flagler Palm Coast is ranked 402nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Johns, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for Johns. Another player making a difference was Ja'Niyah McCoy, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Forest's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Flagler Palm Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Forest's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seminole at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dunnellon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Dunnellon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
