The Centennial Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Cambridge Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Centennial beat Chattahoochee 32-23. The win was all the more spectacular given Centennial's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Chattahoochee is ranked 162nd).
Centennial's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tatiana Oquendo led the charge by scoring eight points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Perez, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Cambridge posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They blew past North Springs, posting a 59-23 win at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cambridge.
Centennial's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12. Cambridge's record now sits at 8-9.
Centennial came up short against Cambridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 61-50. Can Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
