Mathis has gone 8-2 against Aransas Pass recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Mathis' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
On Friday, Mathis made easy work of Odem and carried off a 13-6 win.

Duke Bernal and Juriah Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Bernal went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Garcia went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three runs gave Bernal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Rivas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Mathis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .537 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Aransas Pass lost 8-1 to George West on Friday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aransas Pass saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Kenmore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Kenmore has hit this season.
Mathis' victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Aransas Pass, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Aransas Pass' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mathis hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. It's a different story for Aransas Pass, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Mathis' hitters?
Mathis was able to grind out a solid win over Aransas Pass in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
