Basketball Recap: Community Baptist Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Community Baptist Christian entered their tilt with HomeSchool Resource Center on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 45-38 win over the HomeSchool Resource Center Patriots.

Community Baptist Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colton Aurand led the charge by putting up 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Aurand's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Maller, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Community Baptist Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why HomeSchool Resource Center lost, don't look at Michael Dobrzyn. Despite the final result, he went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dobrzyn a new career-high in points. Elias Moore was another key player, posting three points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Community Baptist Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for HomeSchool Resource Center, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
