The Tohono O'Odham Eagles the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Harvest Prep Academy Eagle at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Tohono O'Odham strolled past Skyview with points to spare, taking the game 50-34. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Tohono O'Odham has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Harvest Prep Academy earned a 59-49 win over Gila Bend on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Harvest Prep Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Gila Bend is ranked 128th).
It was another big night for Leo Cordova, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Harvest Prep Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Endriga, who scored ten points along with nine assists and three steals.
Tohono O'Odham's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Harvest Prep Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Tohono O'Odham was able to grind out a solid win over Harvest Prep Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 49-42. Will Tohono O'Odham repeat their success, or does Harvest Prep Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
