Basketball Recap: Spencer Turner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Indiana Math & Science Academy North over Mooresville Christian

Indiana Math & Science Academy North suffered their closest loss since January 12th on Thursday. They fell just short of the Mooresville Christian Eagles by a score of 58-55. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-50 back in November.

Indiana Math & Science Academy North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Spencer Turner, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five steals. Turner is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Giovani Abel was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Gresh Warren continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mooresville Christian, going 6 for 13 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Warren has scored at least a third of Mooresville Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Warren, who posted ten points and five boards.

Indiana Math & Science Academy North's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mooresville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Indiana Math & Science Academy North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 40-38 win against Eminence on the 28th. As for Mooresville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-59 victory against Riverton Parke on the 28th.
