The Fairfield Falcons lost against the Flinthills Mustangs back in December of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Fairfield lost to Flinthills at home by a decisive 41-24 margin. While losing is never fun, Fairfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Flinthills is ranked 36th).
Mikayla Pugh was Fairfield's leading scorer, having posted 12 points.
Yareli Martinez held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Martinez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Flinthills, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Fairfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cunningham at 3:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Flinthills, they will face off against Pretty Prairie at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Pretty Prairie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
