Softball Recap: Stillwater Wins Going Away Against Saratoga Central Catholic

Stillwater got themselves on the board against Saratoga Central Catholic on Wednesday, but Saratoga Central Catholic never followed suit. They blew past the Saints 10-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by nine runs or more this season.

Eden Resch was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Sofia Perniciaro was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Zoey Zlotnick was another key player, earning one RBI and two runs.

Stillwater hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Stillwater now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Stillwater didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-2 victory against Hoosic Valley on the 15th. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, they have also already played their next game, a 19-8 win against Cambridge on the 15th.
