Croatan extended their postseason success on Friday against Havelock. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 22-21 victory over the Rams. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Croatan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Boucher, who picked up 70 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score. The Cougars also relied on Boucher, who's 45-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game. Kannon McBride was another key signal caller, throwing for 228 yards and one TD while completing 81% of his passes.

Croatan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Christian Taylor was the leader with two sacks.

When it comes to explaining why Havelock lost, don't look at Lloyd Jones. Despite the final result, he picked up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jones also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making three total tackles.

Croatan's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Havelock, they moved to 7-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Croatan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 32-29 loss against Hunt on the 28th. Havelock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
