The Dominion Christian Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Dominion Christian and seven for the Golden Eagles.
On Monday, Dominion Christian was beaten by the 81-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dominion Christian in their matchups with the : they've now lost three in a row.
Covenant Christian Academy lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They suffered a tough 66-41 loss at the hands of Fairfax HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Covenant Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Hawks are ranked 105th).
Dominion Christian's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Covenant Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Dominion Christian came up short against the Golden Eagles in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 55-46. Can Dominion Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
