The Ichabod Crane Riders will head out on the road to take on the Catholic Central Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Ichabod Crane has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 68-58 to Schalmont on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Catholic Central had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 16 on Friday. Everything went their way against Lansingburgh as Catholic Central made off with a 75-50 win. Catholic Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Catholic Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darien Moore, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Moore is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Xavier Pahler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Ichabod Crane's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Catholic Central, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
Ichabod Crane might still be hurting after the 72-51 loss they got from the Crusaders when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moore, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Now that Ichabod Crane knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
