Falkville is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Meek a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Saturday. The Falkville Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Meek Tigers at 12:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Falkville turned things around against Susan Moore on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Blue Devils have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Davis made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Falkville is undefeated when Davis posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Falkville got a massive performance out of Denver Comstock, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Comstock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Owens, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Meek sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over Belgreen last Friday.
Like Falkville, Meek also got a great game from a two-way player: Dawson Beasley. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Beasley has allowed over his last five games. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Ethan Miles was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Evan McCay, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4.
Meek's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Falkville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
