The Christian Learning Center Mustangs put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Plaza Heights Christian Academy by a score of 41-29. Given Christian Learning Center's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 34th in Kansas, while Plaza Heights Christian Academy is ranked 213th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christian Learning Center was led to victory by Rylie Allen and Micah Bean. Allen dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Bean scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds and 7 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least 25% of Christian Learning Center's points.
Despite the loss, Plaza Heights Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Reece Cornine scored 14 points along with 3 steals. The match was Cornine's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Tucker, who scored 2 points along with 3 steals.
Christian Learning Center pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian Learning Center will take on Overland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Christian Fellowship at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Christian Fellowship focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
