Coupeville and Granite Falls are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Granite Falls will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Coupeville extended their winning streak to 15 on Friday. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 153-3 margin over South Whidbey. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Granite Falls made easy work of Friday Harbor on Monday and carried off an 11-4 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Bella Frye made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addy Haverfield was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Ryan Thelen was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Coupeville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Granite Falls, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Coupeville couldn't quite finish off Granite Falls when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
