Wood River and Jerome are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wood River is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Wood River and Mountain Home had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Wolverines blew past the Tigers 13-1 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolverines considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Paityn Nelson was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Wood River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Home only posted an OBP of .273.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Jerome took on Burley on Thursday. The Tigers took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Jerome's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wood River, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.
Wood River came out on top in a nail-biter against Jerome when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
