East Wake Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Franklin Academy Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dylan Palmer was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Robbie Johnston was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4.

East Wake Academy pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Franklin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, East Wake Academy will challenge Knightdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Franklin Academy, they will take on NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Unicorns have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
