Softball Recap: Morgan Has No Trouble Against Ogden

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Morgan and Ogden, and Morgan kept the tradition alive. Morgan put the hurt on Ogden with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaiya Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Hardman, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Morgan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ogden only posted an OBP of .304.

Morgan's record is now 7-3. As for Ogden, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Morgan will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ben Lomond at 3:30 p.m. on April 7. Ben Lomond has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 25.5 runs per game on average), something Morgan will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ogden, they will square off against Corner Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
