The Somerset Academy South Homestead Hurricanes can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 59-25 victory over Colonial Christian at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-7.
Somerset Academy South Homestead was led to victory by Justice Sheppard and Sakura Barnes. Sheppard dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, while Barnes dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Barnes is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joann Barnes, who scored nine points along with five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Somerset Academy South Homestead and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Colonial Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Somerset Academy South Homestead will square off against the Bulldogs at TBD on Monday. As for Colonial Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
