Basketball Recap: Trae Phillips and Jeromy Rosales Secure Win for Centerville

There's no place like home for Centerville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Leon Cougars 67-46 on Friday. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Leading Centerville to victory were Jeromy Rosales and Trae Phillips. Rosales went 8 of 17 on his way to 26 points and five steals, while Phillips went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The match was Rosales' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Boyd, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Centerville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Leon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.

Coincidentally, Centerville and Leon will both be playing Lovelady the next time they take the court. Centerville will host Lovelady at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Leon will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
