The Dakota Prairie Knights lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They took a serious blow against St. John, falling 72-37. Dakota Prairie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-15.
St. John got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alani Morin out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Morin is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Jeanotte, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Dakota Prairie and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for St. John, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Dakota Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. John won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Cougars on February 2nd.
