The Big Bear Bears will head out to challenge the Rubidoux Falcons at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Big Bear has three straight wins, Rubidoux has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Big Bear got the win against Indian Springs by a conclusive 14-2. Fans of the Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Layla Navarette made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Abigail Hendricks was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Royce, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Big Bear kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Rubidoux scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against San Bernardino, falling 19-9.
Anna Hernandez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Julianna Chavez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Rubidoux's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Big Bear, their record now sits at 3-0.
Rubidoux's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Big Bear has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 15 hits per game. It's a different story for Rubidoux, though, as they've been averaging 16 hits. Given Big Bear's sizable advantage in that area, the Falcons will need to find a way to close that gap.
