Even though the Las Plumas Thunderbirds scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Corning Cardinals still came out on top. Corning secured a 61-55 W over Las Plumas. The win made it back-to-back wins for Corning.
Corning got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaidan Raker out in front who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Raker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Roman Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
The victory got Corning back to even at 10-10. As for Las Plumas, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corning will take on Orland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Zach Story and Jeff Mendros. As for Las Plumas, they will be playing at home against Gridley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gridley will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
