Valley Forge scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They snuck past Buckeye with a 57-52 win. That 57-52 margin sets a new team best for Valley Forge this season.
Valley Forge found their leader in underclassman Mikayla Hoang, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Hoang grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Kercher, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Normandy's 17-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were the victim of a rough 47-21 defeat at the hands of Rocky River on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Normandy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while Rocky River is ranked 207th).
Valley Forge's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Normandy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
