Louisburg hasn't had much luck against Paola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Panthers. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Louisburg 3.7, Paola 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Louisburg took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Washington a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Louisburg, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Bristol Barbour was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Barbour was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Max Amren was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luke Schultz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Louisburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, Paola came tearing into Thursday's contest with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Cyclones. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Cyclones since May 8, 2018.
Paola pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Louisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Louisburg came up short against Paola when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 3-0. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
