The Eldorado Golden Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Highland at home to the tune of 79-49. The win was familiar territory for Eldorado who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Bella Hines, who shot 6-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 40 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Eldorado's points. Another player making a difference was Chioma Holyfield, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Rebecca Neal and Breanna Payton certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Neal scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Payton scored 17 points. Payton continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Ryan, who scored ten points.
Highland struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eldorado racked up 11 assists.
Eldorado's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Highland, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Eldorado will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Piedra Vista at 7:00 p.m. As for Highland, they will head out on the road to take on Manzano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
