The Bowman Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Griffith Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bowman Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Bowman Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to South Bend Career Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-7 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bowman Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kahlen Robinson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Robinson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ariana Grveles, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Griffith's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Hammond Bishop Noll 61-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Griffith has suffered since December 19, 2023.
The victory got Bowman Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Griffith, they dropped their record down to 2-18 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Bowman Academy took their win against Griffith in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 45-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bowman Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
