Pillow Academy and Simpson Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Pillow Academy Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Simpson Academy Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pillow Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They fell 48-38 to Leake Academy. The Mustangs have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Simpson Academy suffered their closest loss since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of East Rankin Academy by a score of 63-60. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Patriots are ranked fourth).

Pillow Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Simpson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 22-7.

Pillow Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Simpson Academy in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pillow Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
