The Clay Blue Devils will take on the Bartram Trail Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Clay's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Bartram Trail has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.
Clay's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Baker County as they made off with an 11-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Lucas Montoro looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Lukas Moore was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton McCrae, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baker County only posted an OBP of .350.
Bartram Trail not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 2, 2025 (when they won 11-1). They put the hurt on First Coast with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Bears have beaten the Buccaneers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Buccaneers has come to flipping the script.
Kors Matthews tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Max Wilkerson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Luke Labbe, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
The win got Bartram Trail back to even at 1-1. As for Clay, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Clay got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Bartram Trail by a conclusive 9-2 score. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
