Softball Game Preview: Hector Wildcats vs. Hackett Hornets

Hector has won seven straight games at home, while Hackett has won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Hector's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Danville.

Hector got a massive performance out of Addison Campbell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Reece Vincent was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hector always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .000.

Meanwhile, Hackett made easy work of Acorn on Tuesday and carried off a 16-0 victory. The Hornets have beaten the Tigers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Hector has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Hackett, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
