Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Raymond Rams, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were the victim of a tough 28-8 loss at the hands of Somersworth on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 40 points in the game before, Raymond couldn't push the score so high this time.
Leading Somersworth to victory were Kaden Bickford and Tayshawn Sheppard. Bickford rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, while Sheppard gained 169 total yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Somersworth's defense and their ten sacks. It was a group effort, with four picking up two apiece.
Raymond has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. As for Somersworth, their win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Raymond does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Somersworth will face off against Newport at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Newport is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
