It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pine Grove had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Bald Eagle Area Eagles 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Jamie Dinger made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 13 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May.
In other batting news, Callee Leffler was excellent, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with one triple and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tailyn Bohr, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Pine Grove's record is now 27-2. As for Bald Eagle Area, the loss snapped their winning streak at 17 games and leaves them with a 22-4 record.
