Football Recap: Jesuit Skates Past Middleton with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jesuit). They breezed past Middleton to the tune of 63-7 on Friday. Jesuit has beaten Middleton the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Middleton has come to flipping the script.

A big part of Jesuit's win came down to the chemistry between Will Griffin and his top target Mikey Vernon. Griffin threw for 278 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes while Vernon picked up 171 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those 171 receiving yards gave Vernon a new career-high.

Jesuit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tripp Keller and Nolan Dooly. Dooly also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Jesuit's record now sits at 6-1. As for Middleton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Jesuit wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 57-7 victory against Brandon on the 17th. As for Middleton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-26 loss against Newsome on the 17th.
