The Unatego Spartans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Whitesboro Warriors at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Unatego has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 55-31 margin over Walton. Given Unatego's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Walton is ranked 138th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Whitesboro gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on December 4th. They walked away with a 36-26 victory over Holland Patent.
Unatego's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Whitesboro, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-0.
Unatego strolled past Whitesboro when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a score of 62-48. Will Unatego repeat their success, or does Whitesboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
