After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Standing Bear, Fairbury was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Centennial Broncos 11-10. The Jeffs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jacob Nippert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Nippert was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Dakotah Neumiller and CJ Goeking did most of the damage at the plate: Neumiller scored a run and stole three bases while going 4-for-5, while Goeking went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Neumiller a new career-high. Grady Chappell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Fairbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
