After flying high against the Queen's Grant Stallions last Tuesday, the Sugar Creek Wildcats came back down to earth. Sugar Creek fell just short of the Comets by a score of 50-47. Sugar Creek found out winning isn't easy when you make six fewer threes than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Sugar Creek saw an underclassman step up: Corde Harrison scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Gatewood, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Carolina International was led to victory by Michael Davis and Landon Griffin. Davis scored 11 points, while Griffin scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Salter, who scored two points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Sugar Creek's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Carolina International, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sugar Creek and the Mariners will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Carolina International, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Sugar Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
