The South Choctaw Academy Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Escambia Academy Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: South Choctaw Academy has struggled recently with nine defeats in a row, while Escambia Academy will arrive with nine straight victories.
Last Tuesday, South Choctaw Academy suffered a tough 67-42 loss at the hands of Snook Christian Academy. South Choctaw Academy has not had much luck with Snook Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Escambia Academy put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Wilcox Academy at home to the tune of 70-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Escambia Academy has posted since December 7, 2023.
Escambia Academy can attribute much of their success to Quinton Odom, who scored 21 points, and Rontae Watson, who scored 26 points. Odom hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Luke Bell, who scored eight points.
South Choctaw Academy's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Escambia Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
South Choctaw Academy took a serious blow against Escambia Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 65-23. Can South Choctaw Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
