The Brighter Horizons Academy Stars won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Grapevine Faith Christian on the road and fell 77-38. Brighter Horizons Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-17.
Grapevine Faith Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brennen Byrd, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Landon Harlin was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Brighter Horizons Academy's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bishop Dunne the next time they take the court. Grapevine Faith Christian will host Bishop Dunne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Brighter Horizons Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th.
