Corona del Sol struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Gilbert racked up 22 assists.
Gilbert's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meisha Caserio, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists. Caia Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Corona del Sol has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Gilbert, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-3.
Corona del Sol won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Queen Creek at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Queen Creek is coming into the game with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Corona del Sol will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Gilbert, they and Desert Vista will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Desert Vista is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
